She's Swollen, Not Deaf, Doc

A sketch I started on a whim. The back story for it came as I was drawing, along with a realization.

I know some of my stories contain bursting & things like that. In reality, I'm not really a fan of it. But the thing I realized is the threat of bursting intrigues me more than the actual event. The kind of will she/won't she dynamic. If you read the back story, it kind of seems like the doctor is writing her off, but it's ambiguous as to what happens at the end beyond her swelling further. Ultimately, it's up to you to come up with your own conclusion. I just like getting to that point.
